In 2025, bold kitchens took to the spotlight. Now, things are calming down, and kitchens are becoming a reflection of how we want to live. Kitchen trends for 2026 are shaped by wellbeing, warmth and depth, creating a space that truly feels like home.

At Hallam Interiors, this month’s blog explores the top 5 kitchen trends in 2026. For information about our kitchen installations, call us in Nottingham on 0115 648 6400.

Kitchen colour trends are moving away from cool tones, and are giving way towards warmer, earthier tones. Shades such as stone, mushroom, greens and clay are becoming more popular in modern kitchen design.

When paired with natural materials such as oak and stone worktops, these palettes create an elegant and balanced feel. This results in a space that feels timeless and welcoming.

Display shelving continues to define kitchen design, encouraging homeowners to have everyday items as part of the décor. Lived-in, but tidy kitchens styled with open shelved and glass-fronted cabinetry helps to transform a space into one that is well-designed for both cooking and living.

As kitchens become more personalised spaces, kitchen bars have increased in popularity. Whether it is a mirrored cocktail cabinet or a coffee station, these luxuries are becoming an everyday essential.

While serving different purposes, either feature prioritises organisation and convenience.

In 2026, structure moves into focus, making room for surfaces with character. Soft curved replace sharp lines with more organic forms, creating a calm atmosphere. These gentle shapes enhance elegance and improve your space’s visual harmony – especially in larger, open-plan layouts.
